NY Fall 2011: Only the Stylish Survive

FW is a stressful time. Sure, it looks like only clothes, parties, and makeup- but this is big business. The shows are scheduled back-to-back-to-back, which means fashionites need to be ready to run (read: strut) quickly to fit it all in. The practical choice would be cross-trainers, or snow boots given the recent weather, but HELLO! this is fashion week. The following are some items every fashionista should have in her NYFW survival kit. Because the show must go on, rain or shine!

P.s The weather report looks promising given the blizzard beating NYC has taken in recent weeks. Thank you fashion gods.

The Essentials:
1. Fur vest (faux or real) or great trench.
2. "It Bag". I like a classic Chanel 2.55, Lanvin Happy (in a bright color), or the darling bag of 2011, Proenza Schouler PS1 Suede Satchel.
3. Polished and manicured nails. Colors of the moment: robin's egg blue & peachy neutrals
4. YSL Touche Eclat pen. Late nights, early mornings, champagne = perfect receipt for tired eyes.
5. A notepad, pen, camera, iPhone/blackberry to capture it all. For some, this is a day at the office.
6. Sunglasses for the grand exit. Jackie O, classic 'Ban's, cat-eyes, aviators...the possibilities are endless!
7. Statement jewelry. I prefer quality/statement over quantity. Loving the colors of Marni & craftsmanship of Miriam Haskell.
8. Layers, layers, layers. 30 degrees outside, 70 degrees inside, lights, people, it's going to get hot. Remember, "it's easier to take off than to add to"...and sitting their sweltering in your parka isn't good either.
