Now Watching: Manhattan (1979)

So I've been on a serious Woody Allen kick lately. Last night, hungover from the weekend's festivities, I curled up with my iPad and watched "Manhattan". There is something so charming and quirky and captivating about Woody Allen. The whining that, if it were anyone else would annoy the crap out of me, is what makes Woody...Woody.

The thing I love most about this film is its wit and smarts. "Manhattan" accomplishes so very few comedies today do: appeal to someone other than a syrupy, 16 year old teeny bopper through the use of substantial dialogue, mature relationships, and good acting.

"Manhattan" has definitely made its way on to my fave movie list.

Here is a sneak peek:

Now Playing: Young, Talented, Unaffected

Lately I have been listening to a lot of really great female artists, most coming from the UK, that have a fresh, raw sound. Some are more famous than others, but they are all undeniable talented. Here are some of my faves.

Lissie- When I'm Alone

Clare Maguire- Last Dance

Eliza Doolittle- Rollerblades

Adele- Rolling in the Deep

Ellie Goulding- Starry Eyed

Marina and the Diamonds- Mowgli's Road

Enjoy.

Look Like Wonder Woman, Act like Wonder Woman

If you are what you eat, then you certainly are what you wear. MAC Cosmetic's Spring 2011 collection is inspired by lady vixen & supergal Wonder Woman. The colors are vibrant (obviously) and the line is quite extensive.

Personally, I am quite excited about the nail polish, cobalt blue eye pigment, and the Marquis d' lipstick.

Here is some of the collection, available Internationally by March 2011.

Go On, Buy A Pair...It's For the Children

Cruising Twitter today I came across a link posted by @Bergdorfs for the TOMS they carry at their landmark store on 5th & 58th. Slightly surprised to see such a high end store carry such an affordable shoe, but these weren't just any TOMS. I am in love with the exclusive Glitter Slip-On style. The pink is adorable, the black practical. If only there was white the set would be complete.

Not only are the shoes adorable, they are socially responsible too! For every pair of TOMS purchased, the company donates a pair to a disadvantaged child. How can you go wrong? You can't.

Take a peek and purchase a pair for yourself. It's for the children after all.

Images of Beauty from the House of Wu

I know NYFW has passed and I have already featured my Top Ten from Jason Wu's show, but these images posted by Tommy Ton on Jak & Jill are just too beautiful not to share.

I have officially added Jason Wu to the "coveted' list I have going in my current Moleskine notebook. I know his clothing is expensive, and I will probably save for a year to afford one of his hand-crafted dresses, but I'd say the wait is well worth it.

The Gospel According to Charlotte Olympia

Charlotte Olympia founder and creative genius, Charlotte Dellal comes by her fashion prowess honestly. No stranger to the fabulous world of fashion, Ms. Dellal is quickly emerging as one of the most coveted shoe designers among celebrities, socialites, and those that value a quality shoe. Charlotte Olympia just partnered with Bergdorf Goodman in New York City and is available at The Room at The Bay in Canada. Now if she would only sell through Holt Renfrew and online (I think that is coming soon however) I would be perfectly content.
The lady. The legend. Charlotte Dellal.

Charlotte Olympia's A/W 2011 line is full of color, texture, patterns, and the signature platform that makes her shoes so divine. When I look at the shoes, I see a cathedral like influence. The colors are reminiscent of stained glass windows, especially in the lucite heels on many of the platforms.

I love that the shoes are so recognizably hers, but also ironic in the way they blend femininity with just a dash of avant-garde taste.

Here are some of my favorites from her latest collection.

Perfect for your Sunday best

Coveting these in a big way

Stained glass shoes. Amen to that.

Available in a rainbow of colors

Charlotte Olympia released a short film that perfectly encompasses her aesthetic. Sensual, original, and feminine. These shoes are not for the faint of heart. Watch To Die For here.
